The Hurunui region is in North Canterbury, a one-hour drive from the capital city of the South Island, Christchurch.

Christchurch is serviced by regular international flights from Australia, Europe, the United States, Canada and Asia.

From Christchurch

Approx driving time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Approximate distance: 100km

• Take State Highway 1 (SH1) north to Waipara Junction.
• Turn left at Waipara and follow SH7 to Waikari.
• Turn off SH7 at Waikari and follow the signs 8km to Hawarden.
• Go straight through Hawarden.
• After 4.3 km you will see a church on your right.
• Continue straight ahead for another 7km where you will see Powers Road on your right.
• Turn right into Powers Road and continue to the end (4 km).
• Turn right into The Peaks Road (you are now on a gravel road).
• Follow The Peaks Road for 1.5km and you will see us on the right (red iron entranceway).

From Hanmer Springs

Approx driving time: 1 hour

Approximate distance: 67km

• Travel south on State Highway 7, going through Culverden and over the Hurunui River until you come to the Hurunui Hotel on your left.
• From here travel 1 km and turn right into Medbury Road (signs also say to Lake Sumner and Hurunui River Wines).
• Continue for 7km until you reach an intersection.
• Turn right at this intersection into The Peaks Road (you are now on a gravel road).
• Continue for 3.8km until you come to an intersection of 3 roads. Take the middle road in front of you. Continue for 3.5km and you will see us on the left (red iron entranceway).
